Sunday Mass Bhajans were rocking!
Tuesday, September 08, 2009

I appreciate my cousins, specifically my Seanpaul cousin for everything he's done.
Like through him I get to see things and engage myself with things I really love?

So I got invited through him to this house prayers and that was simply because he knew the group that were gona be singing the devotional songs was the group I really like cause they're awesome!

And the prayers was simply so so so beautiful la.
I got to see alot of things but didnt get to see one thing. Lol.

Okay so yes, I went to this guy's house. He's a friend of my cousin, and he's a junior at RP too.
And seriously,it was sucha grand one la.
Really really felt the vibes after some time.
The bhajan guys were awesome as usual, but Vinod wasnt there and he was missed la.
His voice is really good.

So yeh afterwhich cousins,my brother and I headed home for a late dinner and 2 of my cousins stayed over as we had a Mass Bhajan to attend the next day which I never heard of before and was looking forward cause the same guys who sang in the prayers were one of the groups who were gona be singing.
Oh yeh they're named Jai Harithras Bhajan.

And the mass bhajan started at 9 in the morning and we were there to show support to JH Bhajans.
And like 10 groups were involved? And so... like everytime a group sings a song their turns end.
And a song lasts for like 10 mins, and then the next group sings.
So since JH Bhajan group was the last in queue I had to wait like 90 mins before seeing them in action.
It was a painstaking wait k!
8/10 groups were really making noise...like omg noise...forgetting that a mike amplifies their voice they scream into the mike and it was ohsopainful to my ears.
And I wanted to video the guys I came for and so I did.

I swear the first song was AWESOMELY beautiful, like all the other groups were really taken aback. That I gauged by their claps at the end of it. Cause these guys were the youngest but they really sang as if they've been singing for a long time.
And the first song was a dedication to Lord Shiva, and so dear old brother of mine was obviously loving it and so was I.
The vocalist who's nick named as Paruthi was so so talented la, he actually penned down the song himself?

And Vinod played the tavil(One of the Indian drums) and the remaining guys played the other instruments/clapped/sing along.
And it was mind blowing honestly.
And one more thing I really liked was their uniform? Like most groups wore same colour or same tailored suits but these boys were a variety of similar tops, and these tops had like the 'OM' prints on them.

And then the cycle repeats, one song per group and I waited for another hour for the second song okay! And it wasnt as if all the songs sang by the different groups were really pleasant.
I thought that since JH Bhajans were the last, I shall take it as the best for the last, so waiting shouldnt be an issue.

Second song was alright ...but the the beautiful part of that was Paruthi the vocalist, went one step higher and played a mouth-keyboard/organ.
Like he would blow into the keyboard and play the notes. Cause he wanted to play the snake tune which is not possible unless you have the original instrument meant for it?
But these guys are simply blessed la. They are so talented and I respect them so much.
Check it out! (Last 1.45 mins)

And 2 more songs before the mass bhajan came to an end, so like I was there from 9 to like 2 and only heard 4 songs being sung by JH Bhajans lor.
So I was looking forward to the 3rd and 4th song as Vinod was the vocalist and I think he's an open-throat singer so singing into the mike wasn't entirely working out for him but still his voice is nice.
And so this was their third song, the same song he sang in my house prayer.

And lastly!

The first 30 seconds I love cause it involved mainly the drums and they played it so nicely.I love the beats from the smaller one which Vinod plays.

Yep, so thats how my Sunday morning-noon went. And afterwhich they had a mass Urumi(Another famous Indian drum) session. And that was 80% more on the drum playing than singing.
And I am not exactly a fan of that. So yeah, all the guys who came to support JHB were talking and I was waiting for them to be done and finally off home!

And I went over to Gaga's place cause her mum threw a feast for Viknesh who was going of to camp soon which was yesterday. And afterwhich I came back home and did up all the videos and uploaded them! Efficient or what.

But what I didn't expect at all was the call made for me by Vinod the following day(Monday).
He called my brother to ask if he could have my number. Somehow he saw the videos I uploaded.
But since my line's down -.- -.- -.- , my bro passed his phone to me and Vinod was really nice to thank me for the videos la.
But I honestly didn't do it for them or anything of that sort, only cause they're worth being recorded to be watched again. And my brother went all the way to even connect his camera to my tv so we can watch it in a clearer definition. Hahaha. But yes, I think these guys are awesome.

I hate the fact that I don't have a phone la, I didnt really mind till earlier.
My bestfriend's in hospital to have his appendix removed, and he was admitted yesterday and I only knew today and like his sis had to leave me an offline message in MSN.Thank God she thought of that.

I am off now!
