Performance was great.
I had a good time with the girls.
My sisters,Sam and J* came over to watch.
It was a beautiful Saturday.
(Picture below!)
I felt damn exhausted before my performance for some reason.
But a banana and a redbull was my energy booster.
Lol, but the sugar concentration is SO high in redbull I dont know how T* and V* can drink it like daily/often.
Gosh.
Oh and yes, come Sunday I went to my aunt's chalet at Aranda country club.
It was beautiful.
I got J* to come along.
And my brother's friend Bubba came too.
He's so funny he reminds me of Haiqal(the Dj)
Upon reaching Pasir Ris Interchange which took 1000 years btw, he started disturbing all the army privates who were returning to camp.Lol.
Upon reaching the first thing I did was to check if there was a TV, if there wasn't I would turn back and go home.
REALLY!
Cause I wanted to watch DHOOL. Lol.J* too la!
But to make sure there was, I called the Aranda Receptionist and all. Lol.
Oh by the way, Dhool was good I guess.
Yep, and its such a pity the judges don't know certain things about the performers.
Don'twant to go into details.
But I think its time ya'll know what J* sent in to Megastar Productions(The prouction team for Dhool), the reason I am gona put part of her letter in my blog is to tell ya'll J*'s views got HEARD!
"Dear Sir/Mdm,
I’m a 19 year old, Chinese student in Singapore.
Over the years, I have taken a liking towards Tamil films, songs and especially dance. I’m attracted to the Indian Culture mainly because of my bestfriend.
She’s classically trained in dance and I have watched her performance in temples. She has introduced me to Tamil films and music. I’ve been watching Dhool since its inception. I definitely feel the dance competition serves as a platform for Singaporean youths to showcase their talents and what’s more, it’s entertaining! .........
.......I never fail to watch every episode of Dhool 08 and I was there in the audience on the 17th of August. My friends, Force Killabeez were performing that evening.
However, there are some things I would like to comment about the show.
During the 1st round, one of the judges, Miss Sridevi commented about groups Killabeez and Borderz that their costumes and props had ‘no link and meaning’ to their dance routines. (My friend translated it for me).
I feel that her comments were a vague as she did not explain what she meant by there was no link and no meaning.
Also, I feel that the judges should give every group a chance to explain their concept as done at the auditions and at Dance Arena @ Singapore Poly. This will give the judges a better idea of what is presented to them. This way, every group will have a fair chance & the comments from the judges would be valid.
(I thought of stopping here, but ya'll should read what else J* said. Lol.)
Towards the end of the show, the results were announced and the groups Aerocratz and Killabeez moved on to the semi-finals. It was good news as both groups presented wonderful performances although the judges did not feel so. After the results were announced, the judges were asked to give their comments and Mr Vijaydren said that those were not the 2 groups the judges chose and he asked people to vote for those who deserve it.
I feel that this remark is unnecessary as at the end of the day it was 70% from the judges choice and 30% from the public votes that determined which two groups moved on to the semi-finals. The judges’ job ended after the tabulation of the results for all the dance groups. Hence, they should have accepted the results. I’m sure the audience can decide for themselves and thus they supported the teams that deserved it and the results follow suit.
Even if the judges beg to differ, it doesn’t mean the audience should think the same way!
The reason why SMS voting is not free-of-charge is to ensure that people do not take advantage of the voting system by casting votes on teams that do not deserve to win. So am I right to say that they will vote for the team whom they feel deserves the money spent?
I believe it is not a job of the judge to take sides and show displeasure towards a specific group as the definition of a judge is a person qualified to pass a critical judgment.
Therefore, I agree that they can be critical on the groups during judging but discouraging after the results, I don’t think so. The negative comments passed by the judges discouraged the teams."
So my point is, last week in Dhool, they got the teams to explain about their concept and the judges clarified on what they wanted to know.Wooo!
Oh well!
:)
So now time for photos yes?
